Eram duas. Era dia. Elas eram duas. Ele era meio. Duas e meio. A meio do dia.
Despertaram. As duas. O relógio nem apitava, apesar de serem duas. Ele dormia.
As duas rodaram sobre si, sem dar por ele. Ele roncava, babado, sonhador, sem dar por elas.
Elas espergiçaram o corpo. Ele contorcia-se.
Elas levantaram a cabeça e olharam-se. Os olhos dele tremiam.
A luz entrava pela janela aberta. As cortinas deambulavam como os panos de um teatro que se abrem para dar início a um espectáculo. Lá fora, a natureza existia.
Elas, duas, esfregaram os olhos e abriram a boca. Ergueram os braços e lançaram os cabelos para as costas. Ele dormia sem se mexer.
Elas levantaram-se.
Sem pudor, elas debruçaram-se sobre a janela. Os seus corpos nus sintonizavam-se com o sol, as flores, as árvores e o pó da terra levantada pelos carros de dois cavalos.
Alegremente, acenaram aos pássaros, aos montes, e às nuvens que passavam para cumprimentar.
Ele jazia, inerte, embutido nos lençós e embrenhado nos sonhos.
Elas sorriam. Os seus cabelos esvoaçavam demoradamente por entre os raios de sol, desviando-se da luz como se fosse possível desviar-se dos comprimentos de onda, como se fosse possível passar por entre as gotas da chuva.
De súbito, um apito. Alguém assobiava lá fora. Como que a chamar por alguém. Alguém procurava alguém.
Elas olharam. Ninguém.
Ele sorria enquanto dormia. O sonho era bom.
Uma pedra voou para dentro do quarto. Uma pedra robusta, polida, mas sem asas. O objecto foi embater no relógio, que despertou.
Ele despertou com o relógio.
O sonho acabava e uma nova pedra entrava pela janela escancarada.
Ele ouviu um grito de dor e um som de partir. Ela gritou e o espelho partiu-se.
Ele acudiu-a. No espelho só estavam elas, espalhadas pelo chão.
